For more than a quarter of a century, the PolyU has been an active provider of consultancy services to essentially all types of business and industry in Hong Kong. Such services include both technical and management problem-solving or serving as expert advisors.

With approximately 1,000 academic staff and a wide range of high quality facilities at its disposal, the University represents a vast pool of both human and technical resources available to the community at large.

In 2004/05, PolyU staff undertook over 850 consultancy projects for industry, generating a total revenue of over HK$70 million. These consultancies included major projects in areas such as information technology, construction and land use, applied science & textiles, engineering, language, business management, health & social sciences, etc.

PolyU Technology and Consultancy Limited

The University offers a wide range of consultancy services through the PolyU Technology and Consultancy Limited (PTeC). For more information, please refer to its website at url:www.ptec.com.hk.

PTeC is also intended to take up the marketing role for new technologies and deliverables developed by members of the International Strategic Technology Alliance (ISTA), which was established by the PolyU with major institutions in China Mainland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
